About
The idea behind Tswiri was born when we realised that we had a storage room overflowing with labelled boxes, filled with things we were saving for future projects, tools, computer parts etc. The labels just weren't enough. Sometimes a box moves or the label is too vague. So why not have an app on your mobile that captures everything the boxes hold, keeps track of moving boxes and will navigate you to the specific things you are looking for?
Our objective
Our objective is to create a piece of open-source software that will change the way you manage your inventory. We want to create something that improves the lives of people that need to catalogue and organise items, while changing the current perception around business funding. We aim to have our software as usable , open and flexible as possible.

Why is our software open-source ?
Let me sketch the scene. A company, let's call them Big-Software, sells software that makes it easier to do something. They use the income from that software to develop it further. After a few years almost everyone is using the software and it is the best there is with very little competition. Now Big-Software starts upping the price of the license to use the software and the consumers don’t really have a choice but to pay the increasing rate.
We do not want to create a situation like this, because we want to spend our time creating software that benefits everyone free of charge. If our software is of benefit to you, please visit the Collaborate page.
Our hope is to get a few businesses involved that can each provide a small financial contribution on a monthly basis over a extended period of time. This will allow us to provide the application free of charge to everyone.
